Boo Basket Girls in 4th Class
We’re excited to share a wonderful idea that came from a group of creative girls in 4th Class! They’ve decided to run a fundraiser for a children’s charity and have been busy designing and making their very own Halloween “Lucky Bags”.
Each bag is packed with paper Halloween characters (Boo Baskets), fun accessories and a few sweets – all for just €2. Every cent of profit will go towards helping a children’s charity: Jack and Jill Children's Foundation. All pupils were offered the chance to buy a lucky bag this week.

Solas Blessing May 28th, 2025
On Wednesday, 28th of May we celebrated a very special day in our school. Our school community came together to celebrate the official blessing of our Solas classrooms, which opened in July 2024.
To start the day, the Athlone Army Band performed in the hall for everyone. They were amazing. Then, Msgn. Coonan blessed our lovely classrooms and playground. Pupils were very much part of the blesssing with some bringing up gifts/ symbols and reading prayers of the faithful. We were delighted to see previous principals: Mr Dennis O Connor, Mr. Alan Plunkett and Mr. Niall Spain there too. Mr Spain worked so hard to get these classrooms built so it was nice to acknowledge all the hard work that has gone before us. Parents and members of the school community also joined us to celebrate. Many thanks to all of the photographers who captured this special occasion and thank you also to everyone who came along to join in with the celebrations.
To finish the day, our wonderful Parents Association organised an icecream van for all the pupils in our school. The adults were treated to refreshments in the hall. It really was a special day!
